Be sober, be vigilant

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” – 1 Pet. 5:8

Never let your guard down.

I, the LORD, do all these things

“I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the LORD, do all these things.” – God (Isa. 45:7)

The Lord is sovereign.

Even when I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me

“And even when I am old and gray, God, do not abandon me, Until I declare Your strength to this generation, Your power to all who are to come.” – Psa. 71:18

A great prayer that God will sustain us in our old age, not for us, but that we may pass on the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the next generation.

God has appointed

“In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider: Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other,” – Ecc. 7:14

Prosperity and adversity have both been Divinely Appointed.

Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight

Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.” – Neh. 4:14

Remember God, great and awesome, and fight.

God is our shield and exceedingly great reward

“Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” – God (Gen. 15:1)

God is our shield and exceedingly great reward.

All Scripture

All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness” – 2 Tim. 3:16

“The Bible is authoritative on everything of which it speaks. Moreover, is speaks of everything.” – Cornelius Van Til

Complete Joy, 1

“make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.” – Phil. 2:2

Joy is made complete by being of the same mind.

Shone in our hearts

“For God, who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” – 2 Cor. 4:6

God did not shine in our hearts for our sakes only, but that we might reflect it.
