“I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways.” – Psa. 119:15
Choose to meditate and contemplate on God’s Word.
“The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.” – Psa. 118:15
The Lord does valiantly.
“I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place.” – Psa. 118:5
Jesus answers.
“I love the Lord, because He has heard My voice and my supplications. Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.” – Psa. 116:1-2
Call upon Him for He hears.
“Fools, because of their transgression,
And because of their iniquities, were afflicted. Their soul abhorred all manner of food, And they drew near to the gates of death. Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, And declare His works with rejoicing.” – Psa. 107:17-22
These all go together to form a refrain like our modern hymns with their choruses.
“Therefore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against His people, so that He abhorred His own inheritance. And He gave them into the hand of the Gentiles, and those who hated them ruled over them. Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand. Many times He delivered them; But they rebelled in their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.” – Psa. 106:40-43
There are real consequences for defying God.
“They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert. And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.” -Psa. 106:13-16
How often are we the same?
“He sent Moses His servant, and Aaron whom He had chosen. They performed His signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.” – Psa. 105:26-27
Wonders done by God through Moses.
“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” – Psa. 100:4
Be thankful to Him.
“The King’s strength also loves justice; You have established equity; You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.” – Psa. 99:4
The King’s strength loves justice.
