“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” – Eph. 2:10
We are saved FOR good works, not BY good works.
Rev. Patrick Vincent
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” – Eph. 2:10
We are saved FOR good works, not BY good works.
“I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me!” – Gal. 2:20
There is no other way to live.
“Those people who will not be governed by God, will be ruled by tyrants.” – William Penn 1644-1718
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” – Psa. 32:8
You can have no more precious assurance than this.
“Save, Lord! May the King answer us when we call.” – Psa. 20:9
God saves. God answers.
Our King will deliver us through His Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ.
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world— our faith.” – 1 John 5:4
The victory is already won and is complete.
“LORD, make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am.” – Psa. 39:4
We are frail, God is not.
We are transient, God is not.
Put your faith in Him.
“There are many who say, ‘Who will show us any good?‘ Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. You have put gladness in my heart, More than in the season that their grain and wine increased.” – Psa. 4:6-7
True gladness is found in the Lord, more than in His wonderful provisions.
“Let your gentleness be known to all men.” -Phil. 4:5
Believers are to be famous for their gentleness.
Awful to be famous for all the wrong reasons.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” – Eph. 2:10
So many great truths in one verse:
We are His “workmanship,” which literally means “a thing made”… not evolved.
“Created in Christ Jesus” – “in Christ” might be Paul’s favorite expression; that’s your true identity.
“for” good works = not saved “by” good works, but to do good works.
God prepared these good works beforehand (in eternity past): God is sovereign over every single little thing… ever. [God’s part]
… so we might walk in them; there’s Man’s responsibility. [Man’s part]
And that’s just scratching the surface.
“For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham.” – Heb. 2:16
It is not angels God helps, it is Man.
There is no salvation for fallen angels, only fallen amen.
“For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment;” 2 Pet. 2:4
