Psalms 104 Sung in Ancient Hebrew

REMEMBER THE PSALMS WERE WRITTEN TO BE SUNG!

“Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty, Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain. He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind, Who makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame of fire. You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever,” – Psalm 104:1-5

THE WAY THE TRUTH THE LIFE

I believe you are… THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” – John 14:6

Stairway FROM Heaven

Jimmy Page and Robert Plant wrote the song “Stairway to Heaven.” The lady in the song was buying her stairway. Well, we can’t do that. The folks at Babel tried to build their own stairway, but we can’t do that either.

No matter what, it is too rickety to ever really do the trick!

So God built one down to us. Jesus is the “Stairway FROM Heaven.” (Phil. 2:5-11)

“For I came down from heaven, not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.” – John 6:38

“Him” that sent Me – is God.

The “will” of Him – is that we all should believe in Jesus (6:40).

Take the first step today, then you REALLY don’t have to be alarmed if there’s a bustle in your hedgerow.

Living in a Musical

Living in a Musical

It seems like the Apostle Paul wants us all to live in a musical.

See then that you walk circumspectly (NIV = carefully), not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation (NIV = debauchery); but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.” – Eph. 5:15-21 (NKJV)

Verse 19: speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.

Singing songs (making music in your hearts) to the Lord with an attitude of thanksgiving. Is this not the very definition of joy? JOY primarily manifests itself by – Singing and thanksgiving! Paul is not saying we are all in Grease or West Side Story; he is saying to submit to each other by helping, encouraging, & bearing one another’s burdens – all with an attitude of… JOY!

Our Heavenly Summer Vacation & Our Heavenly Weekend is coming!

Let me put it this way: do you remember the last day before summer vacation? Everyone is happier, lighter, and easier to get along with. Its as if everyone has a song in their hearts.  They can’t wait; tomorrow’s the beginning of summer!

Or at the workplace; everyone is way happier on Fridays than on Mondays. The weekend is coming!

As believers, we have summer vacation coming; Our Heavenly Summer Break! As followers of The Way, we have our weekend coming; Our Heavenly weekend! We should live like tomorrow is that day of anticipation; because it is! Troubles don’t seem so bad. Trials don’t seem so hard. Things that usually get on your nerves, all of sudden don’t. That’s the spirit!

And if you break out in song, you can always blame Paul.

God Makes His Home With You

belonging_ducks excluded

Come on now, we’ve all felt like the odd-man out. We’ve all felt like we didn’t know the secret handshake. We’ve all felt left out. But I promise you, there is a place where you belong.

There is a home for you with Jesus.

“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” – John 14:23

Don’t just skim over that: the God of heaven & earth and His Son, Jesus the Christ will make their home with you. That seems pretty substantial. Give it some serious thought.

Your heart is God’s. He made it. Return it to Him. He doesn’t exclude you. He invites you. He meets you where you are and elevates you. Turn from your former life and run to the Savior. Keep His word. Be changed from the inside out.

  •  There is no need to go it alone.
  • There is no need to stay out in the cold.
  • The wolves are coming.

17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted & grounded in love, – Eph. 3:17

There is a place you belong. There is a home for you with the Lord.

Name Above All Names

Phil. 2:9-11
Phil. 2:9-11

There have been many great names throughout history. Ask 10 people who they would say were great and you’ll probably get 10 different names. Different names are important to different people. We all have our heroes. We all have names of folks who really inspired us or made a difference.

For instance, I would say: da Vinci, van Gogh and of course, Picasso.

My wife would say: Newton, Aristotle and Pythagoras.

As great as those names are, none have even an ounce of power.

Only one name has power.
Only one name has real authority.
Only one name IN ALL OF HISTORY is above all names.
Only one name is The Way, The Truth, and The Life (John 14:6).

Jesus!

Jesus is the only name you need to know. Wrapped up in 5 letters comes all strength and all salvation (Acts 4:12).
Einstein was genius, but speaking his name will not heal you.
Michelangelo was brilliant, but praying to his name could never save you.

7eventh Time Down puts it perfectly: “Just Say Jesus!

God bless!
