This World Is Not Our Home

For here we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking the city which is to come.” – Heb. 13:14

We are pilgrims here. We are aliens. We do not belong here. We are seeking the heavenly city. It is coming.

We Are His Workmanship

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” – Eph. 2:10

So many great truths in one verse:

We are His “workmanship,” which literally means “a thing made”… not evolved.

“Created in Christ Jesus” – “in Christ” might be Paul’s favorite expression; that’s your true identity.

“for” good works = not saved “by” good works, but to do good works.

God prepared these good works beforehand (in eternity past): God is sovereign over every single little thing… ever. [God’s part]

… so we might walk in them; there’s Man’s responsibility. [Man’s part]

And that’s just scratching the surface.

Who Makes You Differ From Another?

Who makes you differ from another?“- 1 Cor. 4:7

It is not “what,” but “Who?”

Man does not make the difference, God does.

In His sovereign grace, He loved us, He chose us, and He saved us.

Set a Guard Over My Moouth

Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth;
Keep watch over the door of my lips.” – Psa. 141:3

Before you speak, remember: We must give an account of all our words to the Lord.

God Does Not Give Help To Angels

For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham.” – Heb. 2:16

It is not angels God helps, it is Man.

There is no salvation for fallen angels, only fallen amen.

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment;” 2 Pet. 2:4

Has God Indeed Said?

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” – Gen. 3:1

The root of all false teachings asks: Did God really say… ?

Christ Is Our Life

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.” – Col. 3:4

Christ is our life.

To Bring Us To God

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God,” – 1 Pet. 3:18

Jesus died on the cross to bring us to God.

You can’t bring yourself.

Without Jesus there is no way to God.

Gentle and Humble In Heart

“Learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart” – Jesus (Matt. 11:29)

Jesus is gentle and humble in heart.

Learn from Him.

Exact Representation

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.” – Heb. 1:3a

Jesus radiates (a light flashing forth; an “off-flash”) God’s glory…

… because He is an exact representation (one word in the Greek meaning “like an engraving or stamp”) of His nature.
