Mercy Shall Surround Him

“Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.” – Psa. 32:10

Which will it be sorrows or mercy?

Do Not Be Like the Mule

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near (their master).” – God (Psa. 32:8-9)

God’s personal engagement. Far too often I am the stubborn mule.

Surround Me With Songs

“You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance.” – Psa. 32:7

God hides, preserves, and surrounds us with songs.

As, What, and When Thou Wilt

“For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.” – Rom. 11:35

“As Thou wilt; what Thou wilt; when Thou wilt.” – Thomas à Kempis (1380-1471)

You Have Opened My Ears

“You have opened my ears” – Psa. 40:6

The Hebrew here for open is “to dig.” God digs open our ears so we can hear the truth of the Gospel.

Not Redeemed With

You were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” – 1 Pet. 1:18-19

Only Jesus redeems.

Clothed With Power

“Who established the mountains by His strength, Being clothed with power; – Psa. 65:6

The mountains did not make themselves. God, through His mighty power, established them.

You Who Are the Confidence

“By awesome deeds in righteousness You will answer us, O God of our salvation, You who are the confidence of all the ends of the earth, And of the far-off seas;” – Psa. 65:5

God is our confidence.

The Man You Choose

“Blessed is the man You choose, And cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts.” – Psa. 65:4

God causes believers to approach Him.
