“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.” – Psa. 42:11
God is our hope and our help.
Rev. Patrick Vincent
“Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.” – Psa. 42:11
God is our hope and our help.
“Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.” – Psa. 33:20-22
The Lord is our help and our shield.
“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah” – Psa. 46:1-3
WE cannot supply our own shelter under our own strength.
God is our shelter and our might.
God is our help in trouble. IN trouble, not from trouble: trouble will come and when it does – in the middle of it and through it God is there.
He is our HELP.
He is our PRESENT help (meaning you can find Him).
He is our VERY present help (His help is in abundance and never lacking).
Take a second and look down at your feet. Do you have shoes on? I have prayed a lot of prayers, but never once have I prayed for God to give me a pair of shoes. Have you?
In fact, I have lots of shoes. I have more shoes than one person needs or should have.
Could it be that we are spoiled? God has so richly blessed us and now we are spoiled rotten? We are so incredibly blessed; just look in your closet and weep at God’s provisions.
“God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” – 2 Cor. 9:8
Rather than bickering and complaining like little kids about all the things God is not doing for us, let’s try to thank Him for the mountains and mountains of blessings He has already given us.
In your prayers this morning, did you ask God to please give you some shoes so that you could stop going barefoot? Yeah, me neither.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” – 1 Chronicles 16:34.
Thank you, Lord Jesus. Thank you.
