Jesus Will Lift You Up

featherLook, I know it’s heavy. Too heavy. Who can lift it? Troubles, trials, & temptations; I know they crush you. They weigh you down. I know you feel defeated. Conquered.

So please listen: Jesus can lift you up.

All that heaviness? Light as a feather to the LORD. Lighter still!

  • He’s eager to do the heavy lifting. Let Him!
  • He wants to take the burden. Let Him!
  • He longs to break your chains. Let Him!
  • He yearns to set you free! Let Him!

Sound too good to be true?

Is not this the fast that I choose:
to loose the bonds of wickedness,
to undo the straps of the yoke,
to let the oppressed go free,
and to break every yoke? – Isa. 58:6

He desires for you to hand over the reigns of your life to Him. Is there anyone more able? Is there anyone more willing? He takes your burden and exchanges it with His rest. Where’s the verse for that you scream?

Come to Me, all you who labor & are heavy laden, & I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you & learn from Me, for I am gentle & lowly in heart, & you will find rest for your souls.  For My yoke is easy & My burden is light.” – Matt. 11:28-30

Jesus will lift you up no matter how heavy you think your life has gotten. Jesus will lift you up no matter how badly you think you’ve messed everything up. Jesus will do all of these things & more, if you but submit to Him.

Then WATCH GRACE WORK!

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. – 1 Peter 5:6-7 (also Psa. 55:22)

  • He will hear you (Psa. 34:17).
  • He will carry you (Isa. 46:4).
  • He will deliver you. (Isa. 40:11).
  • He will help & uphold you with His righteous right hand (Isa. 41:10).

Its all for His glory, not yours. Its all for Him, not you.

So, go out now with a lightened load. Go out with renewed strength. Go out & help your brother (Gal. 6:2). Go out & bring others so He can do the same for them!

Jesus Makes All the Difference

Metamorphosis

The Pharisees said, “If you change, you can join us.”

Jesus said, “You can join Me. You will be changed.”

That’s a big difference.

May God’s Love be with you

Do We Even Need a Code of Ethics?

code of ethics banner - word abstract in letterpress wood typeThere is a recent (and warranted) outcry over moral failure. Every day someone new is ousted. Sometimes it is shocking (Matt Lauer). Sometimes it is not so shocking (Harvey Weinstein). In either case, this is nothing new. When mankind refuses to heed commonsense ethics, shrugs their shoulders at solid Biblical teaching, and stops their ears so they cannot hear the words of Jesus, then disaster inevitably and forcibly follows… and great is the fall of it (Matt. 7:24).

Imagine this (if you can!), Mr. Lauer or Mr. Weinstein there wakes up one morning and immediately opens God’s word. He comes across one of the many codes of ethics therein. For example:

Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Execute true justice, Show mercy and compassion everyone to his brother. 10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. Let none of you plan evil in his heart against his brother.’ – Zech. 7:9-10

Makes sense, right? Pretty simple, I think:

1. Be fair. 2. Play nice. 3. Hug, don’t hit. 4. Help, don’t hurt.

(Funny, we say the same thing to our girls… who are only 4 and 2 by the way).

Then he starts his day. Do you think his day will be different? Do you think his life will be changed? Do you think his decisions would be more enlightened? Oh, I know that they would. Because you cannot encounter the Living God and walk away the same. You cannot meet with Yahweh every morning and then go out and sin (1 John 3:6). It just doesn’t work that way.

Instead, we get more and more people acting the way Zechariah’s audience acted:

11 But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear. (7:11)

If we do like they did, “make our hearts like flint” and don’t heed God’s word, then we will face exactly what they faced: great wrath (7:12).

If you are reading this, there is still hope. Every second is an opportunity that God is freely giving to you so you can turn to Him. Isn’t that awesome? Don’t waste it.

Just Add Water

Living Water
John 7:38

You can live without food for 3 weeks, but take away your water and you can last only 3 days. 65% of our body is made of water. Try growing something without water and see how that goes for you!

It’s easy to see that water is essential for anything to survive. Our spiritual well-being is no different

John 7:38 tells us that rivers of living water will flow from the heart of whoever believes in Jesus. Rivers! How refreshing does that sound?

If you are thirsty, all you have to do is drink.

God Bless!
