Your comforts delight my soul

“In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.” – Psa. 94:19

God’s comforts delight the soul.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night,” – Psa. 92:1-2

It is good to give thanks to the Lord.

Saved through Grace

“We believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus,” – Acts 15:11

No other way.

Edward Mote

My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

On Christ, the solid rock, I stand;
all other ground is sinking sand.”

— Edward Mote (1834)

Mote worked most of his life as a cabinet-maker in London. He was in his 50’s when he was called to pastor Rehoboth Baptist Church. He pastored there for 26 years.

The congregation liked Mote so much that they offered him the church building as a gift. Mote replied, “I do not want the chapel, I only want the pulpit; and when I cease to preach Christ, then turn me out of that.

Mote went home to the Lord in 1874 and is buried in the church yard at Rehoboth Church.

Jesus did not commit Himself to them

“Many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did. But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, and had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.” – John 2:23-25

Jesus did not put up with halfhearted faith.

He deserves better.

I will rain bread from heaven

“Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. And the people shall go out and gather a certain quota every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in My law or not.” – God (Exd. 16:4)

A valuable lesson for every believer to learn.

Work Out Your Salvation

Work out your salvation with fear and trembling” – Phil. 2:12-13

Work out, not for.

God my Rock

“I will say to God my Rock, ‘Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?’
As with a breaking of my bones, my enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long, ‘Where is your God?’” – Psa. 42:9-10

No matter your circumstances or taunts from your enemies, God is your Rock.

In the Redeemer’s Crow

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” – 2 Cor. 5:17

“Every soul saved by Christ is a jewel of priceless worth! It is taken out of the mire of sin and ignorance–and fixed in the Redeemer’s crown, to shine brightly there for evermore!” – George Everard (1828-1901)

My integrity

“As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, and set me before Your face forever. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen.” – Psa. 41:12-13

We have integrity only because God upholds us and sets us before Himself. It’s all God.
