You Hate All Workers of Iniquity

You hate all workers of iniquity!” – Psa. 5:5

In case you were told sin is not that big of a deal.

God Is a Consuming Fire

“Our God is a consuming fire!” – Heb. 12:29

In case you were told sin is not that big of a deal.

God Is Angry With the Wicked Every Day

God is angry with the wicked every day!” Psa. 7:11

In case you were told sin is not that big of a deal.

Climb to the Moon on a Rope of Sand

“It does not depend on the person who wants it nor the one who runs, but on God who has mercy.” – Rom. 9:16

“What! Get to Heaven on your own strength? Why, you might as well try to climb to the moon on a rope of sand!” – George Whitefield

Yes, what Mr. Whitefield said.

Few Are Chosen

many are called, but few are chosen.” – Jesus (Matt. 22:14)

Jesus does not say “many are called, but few chose.”

Ignorant and Going Astray

He can have compassion on those who are ignorant and going astray,” – Heb. 5:2a

Jesus deals gently with struggling believers.

Sinners Coming Near Jesus

Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near Jesus to listen to Him.” – Luke 15:1

Sinners were drawn to Jesus.

Jesus’s Sympathy

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” – Heb. 4:15

In Greek Sympathize means more than “feeling pity and sorrow for someone else’s misfortune.” It’s a compound word: sun (with) and paschó (to suffer).

Jesus suffers with our weakness. He is there with us as we are tempted… or as we failed a temptation.

Tell That Poor Wretch

“If you meet that poor wretch that thrust the spear into My side, tell him there is another way, a better way; of coming to My heart, if he will repent, and look upon Whom he has pierced and will mourn.

I will cherish him in that very bosom he has wounded; he shall find the blood he shed an ample atonement for the sin of shedding it.

And tell him from Me, he will put Me to more pain and displeasure by refusing this offer of My blood, than when he drew it forth.” – Benjamin Grosvenor (1675-1758) “The Temper of Jesus Christ towards His Enemies, and His Grace to the Chief of Sinners.”

Why Are You Persecuting Me?

“Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” – Jesus (Acts 9:4)

Jesus didn’t say, “Why are persecuting My church or Christians?” He identified with the church; the two are inseparable.

To persecute the church is to persecute Christ Himself.
