“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” – Rom. 8:28
So much truth in just one verse.
Rev. Patrick Vincent
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” – Rom. 8:28
So much truth in just one verse.
“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,” – Gal. 4:4
God sent forth His Son: so much in so few words.
“And they were all amazed, and they glorified God and were filled with fear, saying, ‘We have seen strange things today!’” – Luke 5:26
Grace would seem strange to a graceless society.
“For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isa. 9:6
Peace is not the absence of war, but the presence of God.
“Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” – James 4:4
Friendship with the world is hatred toward God. A friend of the world is an enemy of God.
“Truly my soul silently waits for God; From Him comes my salvation.” – Psa. 62:1
Wait for the Lord.
“But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.” – Gal. 2:25
Jesus has come.
“God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave” – Psa. 49:15
Only God can do this.
“Let them be ashamed and brought to mutual confusion Who rejoice at my hurt; Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor Who exalt themselves against me. 27 Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, “Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.” 28 And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness And of Your praise all the day long.” – Psa. 35:26-28
God rights wrongs.
“Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.” – Psa. 34:11-14
Here is the fruit of fearing the Lord:
Life. Many days. Seeing good. Clean words. Pure lips. Departing evil. Doing good. Seeking peace. Pursuing peace.
It all begins with fear of the Lord.
