Idleness is the devil’s best friend.
“that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” – 1 Cor. 2:5
Our faith is not in man’s wisdom but in the power of God.
“And when he desired to cross to Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him; and when he arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace;” – Acts 18:27
We believe through grace.
“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” – Matt. 16:26
Put your soul on one side of the scale and put all that the world offers on the other. Which weighs more?
So the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying.” – Acts 9:11
The Lord knows when we are praying.
“There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded which Joshua did not read before all the assembly of Israel, with the women, the little ones, and the strangers who were living among them.” – Joshua 8:35
So important that the little ones be present at church too.
“You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.” – James 4:2
Return to prayer.
“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” – Psa. 34:8
The LORD is good.
“For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.” – Heb. 12:3
Consider Jesus.
“Behold, the LORD’S hand is not so short That it cannot save; Nor is His ear so dull That it cannot hear.” – Isa. 59:1
You’re never too far away for the LORD to save.
