Jesus’s Sympathy

For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” – Heb. 4:15

In Greek Sympathize means more than “feeling pity and sorrow for someone else’s misfortune.” It’s a compound word: sun (with) and paschó (to suffer).

Jesus suffers with our weakness. He is there with us as we are tempted… or as we failed a temptation.
