“And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.” – Archangel Gabriel (Matt. 1:21)
Jesus came to save His people from their sins (plural).
He shall save His people. That is a promise.
When He said, “It is finished,” that’s what He meant; mission accomplished, over and done.
