“For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him.” – Psa. 103:11
In measuring distances in space, feet and miles don’t really make sense: The numbers would be too huge.
So there is a measurement called, “the Astronomical Unit (AU).” It is the distance of the Earth to the Sun and equals: 1.496 x 1011 meters… that’s a lot of zeroes!
Of course, this only makes sense in our solar system. Once you get further out, you have to use Lightyears (ly) and Parsecs (pc)… because it’s a big universe, isn’t it?
All that to say: as big as these numbers get or as far away from the earth we measure, it pales in comparison with God’s mercy.
His mercy (qualifier: to those who fear Him), is limitless. It is bigger than the known universe.
God’s mercy is further than any AU.
God’s mercy exceeds any Lightyear.
God’s mercy is beyond any Parsec.
GREAT is His mercy.
