What is Highly Esteemed Among Men Is an Abomination in the Sight of God

“You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly esteemed among men is an abomination in the sight of God.” – Jesus (Luke 16:15)

Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees about money. Men love money. We esteem it. It takes the place of God in our worship. That is an abomination in the eyes of God.

    Thank you for the clarification. A friend asked me tonight if it was true that verse referred to celebrating Christmas. She heard on the Internet it was an abomination according to that verse. I gave her your comments. I appreciate your interpretation.
