Counted Loss For Christ

“But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him” – Phil. 3:7-9

Once God opens your heart to hear the Gospel (Acts 16:14), all the things in your life which prior held great sway, will fade.

All the shiny things that this world offers will seem dull. The once-valuable will seem worthless.

Paul considered them: rubbish, refuse, dregs, dung.

Skubalon is a portmanteau: “dog” + “throw” = waste thrown to dogs, like filthy scraps of garbage, (dung, muck, sweepings); what is good-for-nothing (Strongs).

That is all things outside of KNOWING CHRIST!
