“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” – Rom. 11:29
Irrevocable. Interesting word to describe God’s calling, isn’t it? Irrevocable means fixed, unchangeable, permanent, certain, etc.
The Greek word means “without regret or remorse for an action because it was done from deep conviction (Strongs).“
Sounds about right: God’s calling is without regret, without remorse, and done from deep conviction. It’s also fixed, unchangeable, permanent, and certain.
